Chalk Paint 101 for Beginners

If you've never picked up a paint brush before then this video is for you!

Painting furniture with chalk paint can be a fun and creative way to give your home a fresh new look. But what exactly is chalk paint, what's so great about it and how do you use it?

Plain Jane Chalk Paint offers a uniquely beautiful matt finish and requires very minimal prep. Unlike most paints, chalk paint adheres extremely well to most surfaces, including wood, metal, and even plastic. It also dries quickly, allowing you to complete your project in next to no time!

I'm going to show you how to upcycle a piece of furniture using my chalk paint. I'll demonstrate how to transform your furniture quickly and easily with some basic chalk painting techniques.

We'll talk about the difference between chalk paint and other paints, why Plain Jane chalk paint is perfect for creating a beautifully soft vintage finish, prep work and paint brushes. I'll show you HOW to paint- yes, how to actually apply your paint with a Plain Jane paintbrush for the very best finish and without any brush marks.

I'll also show you how to seal your chalk paint project with Plain Jane clear wax to protect and enhance your paint finish.

Thoroughly enjoyed your tutorial Jane, you make it clear and very informative and once again I’ve learnt a new tip from you which was to start in the middle and pull the paint out. I’ve been doing it the wrong way for some time.
How would you do this on a long piece ie door or dining table please? Thanks again for sharing your knowledge, Ildi.
